What’s it all about?
Since I started seriously writing the Stonetree Harm Reduction blog in October 2010, it has evolved somewhat and has become increasingly focussed on the intersection between social media technologies/practices and Harm Reduction. While the original mission remains the same, be prepared to read a lot about how social media can facilitate good harm reduction practice.
The original ‘About’ statement:
“Stonetree has no association or affiliation with any organisation, it is merely the thoughts and ideas of it’s originator and other contributing writers.
It is a place to experiment with ideas and discuss alcohol and drug issues with an open mind and an open heart.
Stonetree advocates that drug policy, treatment and laws should:
- aim to reduce drug related harms, not contribute to them
- recognise drug users basic human rights, including the rights to self determination, and to be provided treatment in a non discriminatory manner
- be grounded in previously demonstrated evidence, or failing this be open to scientific evaluation”
